The grassy hill in the foreground with its rocky outcrops is a difficult area for sensors to hold onto detail, but the E-PL5 has managed it, you can make out detail in the rocks as well as the clumpy texture of the grass. This is a contrasty scene with a wide brightness range including bright highlights and deep shadows. Legion seems to take inspiration from the classic Swedish Fish for its newest flavor of Pulse - 2 days ago Switching to RAW shooting, it managed 15 frames at just over 9fps before slowing to around 1fps. With the stabilisation turned off the PEN E-PL5’s fastest continuous shooting speed is a respectable 8fps, and there’s also a slower 3.6fps speed. Set to continuous AF mode, the E-PL5 will adjust its focus as the subject approaches or moves further away. You can choose whether rotating the rear dial in Program mode controls Program shift or exposure compensation and configure it separately for A, S and M modes. Matching the EM1, this is a nice broad and deep range for HDR enthusiasts, although unfortunately you still can’t trigger an entire multi-frame burst with a single press of the shutter release or self-timer. Like most Auto ISO systems, the EM1 Mark II’s is also unaware of stabilisation being enabled or not, which is a shame as obviously it’s possible to use much slower shutters with lower corresponding ISOs when stabilisation is active. With all that said, here are a selection of images I took with the normal 20 Megapixel mode and with the 50M High Res mode for comparison. Indeed the camera indicates if the camera isn’t sufficiently steady by blinking its High Res mode icon at you, and it’ll even warn you as you push the shutter release – which is why you should either deploy a delay from the menu or use remote control. The theory is the four images in single pixel increments allow the camera to effectively capture red, green and blue for every pixel, greatly boosting colour resolution (and reducing colour moire), while the four half-pixel increments effectively quadruple the spatial detail. The top rear panel slopes gently backwards so it’s now much easier to see the controls here when looking down from above. It has a mode dial on the top panel with positions for the PASM modes, Intelligent auto, Art filters, Scene modes and finally movie shooting. Plus, the E-PL5’s lens retracts when not in use and is more compact than the EOS M’s. There's no image stabilization—Olympus bodies have that function built-in. A lens hood is included, and the front filter ring accommodates 58mm filters. The zoom ring occupies most of the lens barrel and has a textured finish. In my tests the Fujifilm X-A5 outperformed the E-PL9 both for noise at higher ISO sensitivity settings and overall picture quality. Both of these are key rivals to consider, and right now the EOS M100 is arguably the most tempting of all thanks to its discounted pricing in some regions – see my Canon EOS M100 review and Sony A5100 review for more details. Bulb requires you to press and hold the shutter release, either on the camera or remotely, while Time opens the shutter with one press and closes it with another. In particular, Panasonic’s Lumix G cameras offer a variety of frame rates and resolutions, even allowing 4k at smooth rates. You can choose whether to record just the images, or have the camera additionally create a movie from them. Of course you’ll still be able to focus-bracket with these lenses and stack in software later, just not stack them in-camera. You can get a decent model on eBay for no more than 200 bucks, and if experimenting with formats is your thing, I encourage you to get one. For now, I can’t say, if the Olympus Pen-FV is a keeper for me, I still might swap it for a decent 6×6 camera. Maybe 300-ish grams don’t seem like a big difference between a Pen and a regular SLR, but they are. Re1gn gives its uses maximum endurance and ensures extreme pumps that help you complete your workout with ease. This is smart marketing, making the most of the Olympus reputation for classic style to attract buyers from a demographic not usually thought of as a key market for this kind of kit.We believe that 'supplements' should cost you less than your actual food shopping.Just like you, we train hard and we have goals. We have toxicity testing on what is in our product and the ingredient stim x has a study with over 2 GRAMS being used in a human without them being hospitalized for being "violently ill"I did a piece for Kosmo Foto recently about bulk loading film in order to save money, but another option is to shoot with a half-frame camera.Having the screen flip under rather than over avoids having to worry about the hot shoe and accessory port. From the top, the control layout is similar to the EM1 III with a power collar switch around hard buttons for the drive, flash, AF and metering modes to the left of the viewfinder. The OM-1 may not be an official member of the OM-D series, but it unsurprisingly – and wisely – shares a lot of the design DNA we’ve come to know and love. But this is a special occasion, with 2022 marking the 50th anniversary of the original Olympus OM-1 35mm film SLR. The substantial cushioning, excellent traction, and durable construction make it an excellent choice for day hiking and backpacking on moderate terrain. When going through the latest lot of imported photos, I flag all the blurry, crappy, or duplicate images for deletion. I plug my camera’s SD card into my MacBook Air, import the photos into Lightroom 4, and then make some minor edits using one of VSCO’s Film packs. Compared to the 20mm pancake, the 45mm is not nearly as compact or attractive (seriously, a silver lens on a black body?). Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 24mm f/1.7 Lens Beyond all the clever flagship tech, though, the real fun – and the heart of the OM System OM-3's shooting experience – is the Creative Dial. I need to confirm this, but my understanding is that this is down to the new CIPA measurements (which is the same reason that the Nikon P1100 is listed as having a stop less compensation than the P1000, despite having identical technology). You also get things like the Live ND and Live GND modes – which are the coolest camera features I've ever seen – enabling you to shoot with software-powered neutral density and grad filters, and leave the bulky physical glass at home. When the focus was spot on and the timing and subject content all came together perfectly, the E-1 delivered fantastic images. The camera felt so good in the hand, and reminded me of my time with the E-5, which served me well for many years. For my usual shutter therapy session out on the streets of sunny Kuala Lumpur, I rarely needed anything beyond ISO 200, and the bright and a tad harsh sunlight helped improve the focusing efficiency of the camera. There’s also a new LB-T01 protective lens barrier which can be opened and closed while wearing gloves and UC-92 external battery charger. Olympus has revamped the underwater shooting capabilities of the TG-6 with three new underwater white balance modes designed for shooting in shallow, mid range and deep water. The sensor remains the same 12 Megapixel CMOS chip coupled with the TruePic VIII image processor that was introduced in the earlier TOUGH TG-5. By 400 ISO, though, the noise has increased to such a degree that it’s already having an effect on small and medium sized image detail, the text isn’t nearly as clean in this crop as in the previous ones. So if both cameras were using their maximum apertures and the same shutter speed, then the Nikon COOLPIX A would be forced to select a sensitivity just over double that of the XZ-2. The depth of field equivalence is around f9 on a full-frame camera when shooting wide open. There's also a cool new 299-image interval shooting function, which enables you to create timelapse movies (supported by an intelligent exposure function that keeps your frames consistent, even in changeable conditions). As a compact camera, the TG-7 primarily offers point-and-shoot functionality; the mode dial offers standard auto, aperture priority and program modes (though there is a context-sensitive control wheel on top that can be toggled between aperture and shutter for manual control depending on the mode). In full frame (35mm) terms that gives you a mm equivalent focal range, and it doubles as a macro lens with 10mm close focusing (offering 4x optical magnification). Neither is that fast, but with a 28mm lens camera shake is very unlikely. One thing to note is the camera only has two shutter speeds, which are 1/40 and 1/200. If there isn’t enough light a red flag will pop up in the viewfinder and the shutter button will be locked and no image taken. When using the ISO setting, the aperture and shutter speed are decided by the light coming into the selenium meter, so the camera becomes a fully automatic point-and-shoot. Unlike most 35mm cameras the default in the viewfinder is portrait, so the camera needs to be turned 90° to shoot landscape. So while, with less aggressive sharpening and careful noise processing, you may be able to squeeze a tiny bit more detail form the RAW files, you’ll have to be quite careful not to overdo it. In the second crop there’s definitely more detailed in the tiled roofs in the foreground, but at the cost of overall intrusive salt and pepper graininess. These RAW processed files from the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 may bring out a little more detail than the in-camera JPEGs, but they also show quite a bit of noise. To compare real-life RAW performance I shot this scene with the Olympus Stylus XZ-2 and the Nikon COOLPIX A, within a few moments of each other using their RAW modes. Alternatively, see how these models compare at higher sensitivities in my Olympus Stylus XZ-2 Noise results. The viewfinder still uses an LCD with the same size and resolution as the EM1, but now features a faster 120fps refresh and 6ms response, while the touch-screen is now side-hinged and fully-articulated. Announced in September 2016, it comes three years after the original OMD EM1 and like all OMD and PEN bodies, is based on the Micro four Thirds mirrorless standard. Secondly, during the zoom the autofocus wanders a bit and takes a second or two to sort itself out. The same thing happens during zooming – in trying to filter the zoom motor noise the fairground ride music is also cut out. It wasn’t noticeably windy, but the mic has picked it up and in attempting to suppress it has muted the ambient noise. A holy trinity lens, the Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro is equivalent to a 24-80mm in full frame terms – making this the standard zoom that's the workhorse of many a professional kitbag. The difference is noticeable, with more detail visible, but it’s still quite difficult to see in sunny conditions, especially if the camera is submerged and you’re not.If the action is distant then you will get a few in focus, but if it approaches close enough to fill the frame you may become frustrated.OID anticipates it will significantly scale up headcount in 2025 and 2026 as it builds out its foundational base and corporate structure, and finalises the relevant licensing certification, enabling it to expand its range of services and activity within the Indonesian market.I’ve included this second image really just to show the shallowness of the depth of field with a reasonably close subject and the pleasant bokeh produced by the mm’s circular aperture diaphragm. The E-PL7 is the second PEN with Wi-Fi—last year's E-P5 included the feature—but it's the first low-cost model in the series to include it.The focusing rings on both lenses were smooth, but the Leica felt stiffer – perhaps as a newer sample. There are two connection options, one-time, which uses a unique password for when you just want to share a few selected images with friends, and Private, which allows you to connect using the same password each time.Another thing that I’d welcome is the ability to customise the in-focus area, which isn’t always in the centre of a horizontal frame. Back in the centre of the frame for the fourth crop, there’s less of a difference, but this crop I think confirms what the first two hint at. Likewise, the edges in the second crop don’t look quite so crisp as on the COOLPIX A, but at this stage it’s hard to tell if this is just a consequence of the different sized detail or there’s something more going on. The other thing to remember here is that the APS-C sized sensor in the COOLPIX A is physically larger with a much bigger surface area than the 1/1.7in sensor in the Olympus XZ-2. In the foreground of this crop the chimneys and window frames are sharp, but there isn’t the fine detail in the roof tiles that you would see from a DSLR sensor. Film simulations, computational photography, superb algorithmic autofocus… the OM System OM-3 is a creative tool as potent as Salvador Dali dabbing like a lunatic. The OM System OM-3 is the camera that I've been waiting for since 2016. OTW is committed to exploring new initiatives and embracing challenges, working towards procuring and delivering components of high quality, safety, and reliability. One of the problems with setting the ISO manually is that it’s easy to forget to change it if you go inside, particularly if, like me, you don’t pay much attention to the screen. The South of France is hot and bright and, it’s therefore no surprise that the majority of images I shot were at the E-P3’s lowest available sensitivity setting of 200 ISO which I set manually. With both the screen and IS turned off most of the time I was confident that the E-P3 battery, which has a CIPA rating of 330 images would last all day, and it did. Both provide a clear view of the screen when it’s facing you, but on the X-A5 the hotshoe is obstructed and on the E-PL9 you can’t use the tripod mount. While it seems a bit strange at first, I don’t think there’s much of an advantage one way or the other. Many of the upgrades were previously seen on the recent OMD EM10 Mark III – and indeed the EPL9 could be considered as a viewfinder-less version – but with its more compact body, stylish looks and front-facing screen, it’ll remain a popular choice with vloggers and bloggers ailke. The screen can tilt up by 90 degrees or down by 180 to face the subject for selfies or vlogging, although when doing so you’ll block the tripod mount so it’s handheld vlogging and selfies only. The design of it is well built, with a mixture of what seems to be metal and polycarbonate. There is quite a lot of content to discuss, and I tried to be as detailed with what I found this camera to do well with. Reasearch is important but we also value the testimonials of individual results who actually used AlphaBulk by Olympus Labs and can describe how the supplement felt. It is recommended to take Trestolone once or twice daily, to maintain stable levels in your system. For continuous shooting the Nikon AW1 outperforms the TOUGH TG-2 by a wide margin with 15fps with continuous AF compared with 5fps with fixed AF on the TG-2. Both are equipped with GPS, but the Olymus TOUGH TG-2’s highly detailed display with location data and 3D map is more impressive. It’s waterproof to a depth of 15 metres (compared with 10m for the AW1) shockproof to 2.1m and freezeproof to -10C. Be aware of the possible impact of using Pay in 3 and of missing payments, including making other borrowing more difficult or more expensive. I was also impressed with the single AF speed which while hardly slow on earlier models, now felt even faster. But again, in trying to sum up a camera that is more than the sum of its parts, it's the PEN-F sequel I've been waiting for since 2016, and a camera that gives Fujifilm's finest a run for their money. The mission for Olympus Lab is to give consumers the best products that will push them to achieve their body goals and have a good time while getting there. The mode dial is slightly larger than before and ,as before, the single control dial surrounds the shutter release. In practical terms this means you can comfortably fit the E-PL9 with its powered kit lens in a coat, or even jacket pocket, but the X-A5 is more of a handful. This isn’t your basic testosterone booster—it’s pharmaceutical-grade territory that demands respect.I've seen so-called weather-sealed kit from other brands fail catastrophically in the field (ever watched a photographer open the battery compartment and have water pour out?), but Olympus / OM System kit has never, ever let me down – even in the harshest conditions. You won’t get a jolt of energy like you will with many PWOs on the market, and this is not a bad thing. Now I don’t know if the emulsion is thicker than the others but on both rolls I got to around frames and it was starting to get very hard to wind on the film. Using the apertures, the camera will default to a shutter speed of 1/40. Most people will probably shoot in the ISO mode and let the camera automatically make all the decisions. The optimal dosing time for MK-677 is at night directly before going to bed. Use Olympus Labs Ghar1ne when you're looking to push your strength and muscle building to the next level without using hormonal supplementation aids. Overview of RTIS system, components and inspection head. Or head over to my Olympus E-P5 sample images to see some more real-life shots in a variety of conditions. Up to 400 ISO it matches the PEN E-P5 crop for crop, but from there on up the incremental increases in noise are far less intrusive and the X-M1 sensor retains a lot more detail as a result. I’d say from 1600 ISO to 6400 ISO the PEN E-P5 has an edge in terms of the way it handles noise and the results, but it’s a slight advantage. The GF6’s 1600 ISO crop does look a little bittier though, the bottom edge of the memorial panel is patchier than on the PEN E-P5 crop and the difference is a little more exagerrated at 3200 ISO. Olympus realised they could make more compact cameras than conventional full frame numbers and set the craze for half frame cameras which other Japanese manufactures soon followed in the 1960’s. I suspect like me you’ll end up comparing cameras with Olympus models even if you aren’t a fan of them. After that the app will dutifully record your position at the preset intervals until you’re ready to sync them with the images on the camera. You can apply Art Filters, superimpose text, logos, even signatures written on your phone’s touchscreen, and play around with composite Photo Story arrangements. Slow focussing was one of the biggest criticisms of earlier models and, though the focussing system isn’t faultless, it is now virtually instantaneous. Though it shares the same 12 Megapixel sensor as the E-P2, the new TruePic VI image processor provides significantly faster autofocussing with 35 AF areas. To see how the quality of the Olympus TOUGH TG-2 measures-up in practice, take a look at my Olympus TOUGH TG2 quality and Olympus TOUGH TG2 noise results pages, browse my Olympus TOUGH TG2 sample images, or skip to the chase and head straight for my verdict. The Engage Pursuit Pro1 is the most comparable but lacks the Olympus’s fuller feel. But, let’s be very clear, this is still a thin paddle. Unlike recent power paddles, you don’t have to only focus on babying the ball. Here’s the field of view with the TOUGH TG-6 at its maximum 25mm equivalent wide angle setting. The TG5’s 460k dot LCD monitor has been upgraded on the TG-6 to a higher resolution 1040k dot panel. Here you’re looking at the main difference between the TOUGH TG-6 and the model it replaces. The TG-6 has two double-latched sealed doors, one on the side housing the USB data/charging and micro HDMI port and one on the base of the camera for the battery and card compartment. No change on top either, with the shutter release and, unusually for a waterproof compact, zoom collar and on the opposite side of the GPS and WiFi aerial housing the switch to activate the track log. Ive been a customer for a long time. I’m never looking back after discovering them. One feedback that I do like to give them is that I love it if they would update their site and re-utilise the rewards system for those dedicated customers like myself.Other than that, they’re top class. Make sure to follow them on Instagram, there is a friendly bloke who responds to any enquiries that you may have! It’s waterproof to a depth of 15 metres, freezeproof to -10C, can withstand a crushing force of 100Kg and a drop from 2.1m, and to cap it all off is dustproof. To find out how much of a role processing plays in keeping noise at bay in these crops take a look at my Olympus Stylus XZ-2 RAW quality page to see just how much noise is present behind the scenes. The text on the 1600 ISO crop from the XZ-2 is already illegible which rules it out for general purpose shooting. There’s a slight step up in the noisy texture at 200, the degree is more than the COOLPIX and starting from a slightly noisier base level. If you look closely at the 100 ISO crop you’ll notice a slight texture to the wall as well as in the text panel on the memorial. Canon RF 20mm f/1.4 L VCM Lens This is something that will be greatly welcomed by anyone who wants to freeze very fast action or has tried to achieve shallow depth of field in bright light with a fast lens and has run out of shutter speeds even at the lowest available sensitivity setting. These update the screen at regular intervals to show the current state of the image during a long exposure. Also included is the The E-PL5’s HDR bracket feature which provides a subset of the exposure bracketing options – 3, 5, or 7 frames at 2EV intervals with the 3 and 5 frame option also available at 3EV intervals. Like the E-M5 and E-PL5, the EP-5 provides automatic exposure bracketing up to 5 frames in 1/3, 2/3 and 1EV increments and a seven frame option at 1/3 and 2/3EV. The layout is displayed on screen as you shoot with the Live view displayed in the current frame so you can see exactly what you’ll get and if you don’t like it you can delete your shot and try again. To find out if this lens could be used to track action on the Mark II, I tried shooting falcons flying directly towards me. I was also delighted by the Sync IS stabilisation as the image floated eerily in the viewfinder – the stability felt like I was shooting at an equivalent of about 200mm, but it was in fact equivalent to 600mm. During each run of the bulls, the owner’s dog, Kiwi, would run alongside, so I turned the camera onto him and again it snapped-on quickly and confidently. This first image above was taken with the mm f2.8 at its maximum telephoto focal length and with the aperture wide open at f2.8. On the results page you’ll see processed RAW files, and on the gallery page you’ll see a selection of additional images shot by Gordon. For the next section of my review I’ve picked out a selection of images I shot over the course of the day at Cheltenham race course. I've seen so-called weather-sealed kit from other brands fail catastrophically in the field (ever watched a photographer open the battery compartment and have water pour out?), but Olympus / OM System kit has never, ever let me down – even in the harshest conditions. Put that in the context of a safari and you can see how essential this lens – and the MFT system – really is. Except, of course, that said crop factor actually makes this an mm trinity lens, in a form factor that's smaller and lighter than any full-frame equivalent. It has a 20 Megapixel sensor, 4k up to 30p, built-in stabilisation with up to 7.5 stops of compensation and 18fps bursts with autofocus, all packed into a tough weather-proof body. With the market moving towards smaller, highly portable cameras featuring APS-C format sensors, Olympus needs to constantly reassert the advantages of the MFT format. The OM-3 starts off well at low sensitivities, but as ISOs rise and noise inevitably becomes more visible, its smaller sensor starts to struggle in comparison to the APS-C Fujifilm and Nikon cameras. OM-System cameras (and their Olympus predecessors) tend to do well for capturing dynamic range at lower ISOs, and the OM-3 follows suit, managing to give the APS-C cameras a run for their money. But two interesting things happened in that time; first of all, a byproduct of the OM-3's nimble size and tiny lenses was that I took way more in-the-moment, blink-and-you'll-miss it, "decisive moment"-type shots with this camera than the SL3-S. The video quality is also something that feels very… basic. This means each frame only draws every other line, and the next frame is the missing lines from the first frame. Paired with the 45mm 1.8 it makes for a great candid camera and behind the scenes camera. Advanced muscle builder AlphaBulk arrives to kick off Olympus Labs’ comeback But if you're in the market for a go-anywhere, all-in-one lens for an Olympus camera, it's a solid option. It gets a little soft when zoomed all the way in, and its light gathering capabilities pale in comparison with prime lenses and expensive f/2.8 zoom lenses. The optics and zoom range are the same as the first version, but the build quality has been improved and the lens is now sealed against dust and moisture. The E-PL9’s touchscreen flips down to face-forward for selfies and vlogging, again exploiting the excellent stabilisation, although this in turn blocks the tripod mount and the camera also lacks a microphone input. Against that, the X-A5’s 4K video mode is not good for much else, whereas the E-PL9 offers genuine 4k video recording at a usable 30p frame rate. The MSC (Movie & Stills Compatible) autofocus system itself is fast for stills, and operates smoothly in near-silence for movie capture. There’s also a neat customizable Lens-function button. However, push-pull focus rings aren’t to everybody’s taste, and can easily be nudged into the wrong position accidentally. With an effective zoom range of 24-80mm in full-frame terms, and a fast constant aperture of f/2.8, this is a pro-grade standard zoom lens for Micro Four Cameras. There is no ingredient used to make sports supplements that has been used more than caffeine. When this ingredient reaches your endothelial cells, its molecules attach themselves to the endothelial cell membranes, which helps the endothelia cells create nitric oxide. This amino acid is a chief ingredient in most pre-workout supplements and is naturally found in water melons. Here are some of the elements that make Re1gn one of the best energy boosting supplements in the game and their benefits. After taking this supplement, you will also notice an elevated mood, something that comes in handy if you are to achieve your full potential in the gym. From the 200+ images I took with this camera, I only thought about turning it to “normal” orientation maybe 10 times or so. Despite covering an epic zoom range (the equivalent of a mm zoom on a full-frame camera), the lens measures just 3.3 by 2.5 inches (HD) when set to its 14mm position. But then the sensor in the E-PL9 is stabilised within the body and like all of Olympus’s bodies, it works really well, but if you’re the kind of person who’s likely to stick to a handful of lenses, you may be equally well-served by the optically-stabilised Fujifilm kit zooms. Also appealing to more casual shooters are in-camera art filters, which are accessible via the top dial. For the most part all of the controls act like you'd expect them to. Running along the rear, at a slight angle at the top of the body, are playback and delete buttons, the Fn button, a magnification button, and the Record button for movies. But Olympus has opted to keep the E-PL6 in production, and bring it to the U.S. market at a rock bottom price. The Olympus 8-25mm f4 Pro is a fresh and very welcome addition to the Micro Four Thirds system. If you're more serious about images you can shoot in Raw format. The camera was set to Aperture priority mode and f4 was selected as this produced the best result from the lens.Whether it’s Fisheye, ultra wide, fast aperture, macro, super-zoom or good old general-purpose, the Micro Four Thirds catalogue has it covered, and many of them are great quality too – find out more in my Micro Four Thirds lens guide.Running along the rear, at a slight angle at the top of the body, are playback and delete buttons, the Fn button, a magnification button, and the Record button for movies.Tongkat Ali – Eurycoma (LongJack) is a pro-fertility agent and aphrodisiac that appears to have a large body of evidence supporting this role and some evidence suggesting it may be an anti-estrogen and pro-erectile agent. In our tests, the GF1’s face detection also proved more reliable than the E-P2, with the Olympus often focusing just in front of the identified face when the subject was turned slightly.Set to continuous AF mode, the E-PL5 will adjust its focus as the subject approaches or moves further away. The 14-42mm kit lens now has an R suffix, a new knurled finish on the zoom and focus rings and a removable cover plate for the bayonet mount. The TOUGH TG-2’s lens is centrally mounted whereas the Lumix FT5 / TS5’s is on the corner, this makes little pratical difference other than the need to keep your fingers out of the way with the Lumix – something you quickly get used to. So while the AW1 is more sophisticated and has a bigger sensor and access to more lenses to swap, the TG-2 could end up being more practical as a day-to-day tough compact. Both models have 3 inch screens but the 910k dot LCD panel on the AW1 provides a marginally larger and more detailed view than the 610k dot OLED screen on the TOUGH TG-2. That said, there’s two adapter lenses for the T-G2 which extend or broaden the reach and both can be fitted underwater. The PEN E-PL3 retains the 3in 460 dot LCD screen of its predecessor, but it’s now touch-sensitive and the hinge has been redesigned making it possible to flip the screen up and over the top of the camera body so that it faces front. The Olympus PEN E-PL5 is a mid-range mirror-less compact system camera (CSC) with a 16 Megapixel sensor and a 3in articulated touch screen. The aging sensor design in the A6100 produces noticeably noisier images than the other three cameras. The feel of the materials and controls is first-rate – this feels such a finely made, high-precision device that you have to remind yourself it’s also been ‘ruggedised’ for outdoor conditions. But what about the revolutionary continuous shooting and autofocus modes? The 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro lens (24-80mm effective) is half the size and weight of a full-frame equivalent; this goes right across the board, right up to Olympus’s mm f/2.8 (80-300mm equivalent) and 300mm f/4 super-telephoto (600mm equivalent). It’s not just about the size of the body, but the lenses too. In my review I’ve compared the TOUGH TG-2 with the Nikon AW1 and a closer competitor, Panasonic’s Lumix FT5 / TS5. It’ll be interesting to see how this impacts the upper end of the rugged waterproof compact market. The PEN E-P5 was set to its best quality 16 Megapixel resolution JPEG with Auto White Balance. 1080p30 video is available at two quality settings – fine at 24Mbit/s (increased from 20MBit/s on the E-PL5) and Normal at 16Mbit/s. Olympus has gained a reputation for outstanding stabilisation with the five-axis systems built into its OM-D E-M1 and EM5 bodies. While both Olympus and Panasonic share the same lens mount, they take different approaches to stabilisation. Olympus PEN Mini E-PM1 shooting modes The E-P5 doesn’t have one built-in, but if you opt for the VF4 accessory you get a substantially bigger viewfinder with a more stable higher resolution view than the OM-D E-M5’s built in EVF – 2.36 million dots compared with 1.44 million. It’s easy to think of the PEN E-P5 as a more compact version of the OM-D E-M5 without a viewfinder, but the new PEN flagship is actually much more than that. That said, the QR code system offered by the E-P5 allows pretty quick setup on both iOS and Android devices. I wanted to slow down, and just enjoy shooting without having the camera get in the way. You’re not prevented from zooming the lens, and it appears to work with any lens attached providing, according to Olympus, either 2x or 4x the normal angle of view in Std or Full mode. For a panning shot like this it’s probably best to turn off the digital stabilisation. There’s also a wide range of Art filter effects including among others, Pop, Art, Cross Process, Dramatic Tone, Key Line, Vintage, Partial Colour, and the newly introduced Bleach Bypass and (above) Instant Film. Nacho Abia, Chief Operating Officer of Olympus Corporation, said, “the acquisition of Medi-Tate aligns with our corporate strategy of focusing on three priority therapeutic areas within our Therapeutic Solutions Division — gastroenterological endotherapy devices, urological devices and respiratory endotherapy devices. Olympus is a market leader providing devices for BPH treatment such as resectoscopes and a wide variety of electrodes. With its initial Medi-Tate investment, Olympus has had the right of distribution since November 2018. © copyright 2026 Strong Supplement Shop. In my experience photographing dimly lit interiors, the E P7 maintained usable files up to ISO 6400, especially when paired with a fast prime lens. For event and night photography, I recommend shooting in RAW and applying custom noise reduction for best results. For those who want more technical depth, Imaging Resource’s Olympus E-P7 Review provides extensive sample galleries and measured data that back up these impressions. There’s also Focus Bracketing on the EM1 Mark II with up to 99 shots and a differential of one to ten, for use with optional focus stacking software like Helicon. But probably the most significant physical change is the addition of two new control wheels, a Sub dial at the front below the shutter release and a thumb-operated Main dial at the rear.In short, the E-PL5 was the smallest camera I could find with the best possible sensor inside and most features.A manual focus clutch mechanism is engaged by snapping the focus ring rearward, which also reveals a focus scale marked on the lens barrel. This takes about two to three seconds with a fully charged battery – unlike the EOS M’s accessory flash, which is powered by AAA batteries, the PEN E-PL5′ flash draws its power from the camera battery. From routine quality checks to in-depth failure analysis, Evident’s materials science and industrial inspection microscopes deliver the resolution, contrast, and precision needed to push the boundaries of what’s visible, measurable, and knowable. After a lacklustre start Fujifilm has worked hard to bring autofocus on the X-range up to speeds that compete with the fastest mirrorless models around – those from Olympus and Panasonic, and the X-M1’s AF is fast, but not as fast as the PEN E-P5.As commented in that review, it’s nice to have the dual control wheels, but we personally found both occasionally tricky to operate – ergonomically you may find them fine, but we’d recommend trying them out in person. Find spinning disk systems suited for live-cell imaging, long-term time-lapse experiments, and high-throughput plate screening. I am also used to shoot 35mm lens on my “full frame” camera, but in this case the 38mm (which roughly equals 50mm) felt very natural. As opposed to 10-ish frames in a medium format camera, where you have to think each shot through, with the Pen-F you stop thinking and start burning through your seemly infinite rolls. Remember that it is a half-frame camera? There is just one dial on the camera body – the shutter speed selector (in the FT it is integrated with the ASA dial). And 5fps full resolution continuous shooting will fall short of the mark for surfers, snowboarders and anyone else who wants to capture fast action sequences of their favourite sport. The lack of proper manual exposure control is a little disappointing, with only a pseudo Aperture priority mode, you’re limited to exposure compensation to change exposure settings. 1080p30 HD video is augmented by a couple of high speed (slow motion) modes and the continuous shooting performance is respectable, if not sparkling. Both cameras offer a similar range of shooting modes with PASM as well as auto modes, scene modes, effects, timelapse and so on; the E-P5 lacks the panorama mode of the Lumix GF6, though it makes up for it to a degree with its new Photo Story mode and focus peaking. So in terms of photo and video quality and AF hardware, it’s essentially the same as the EM1 Mark II, but Olympus has improved the focusing algorithms as well as the built-in stabilisation, claiming up to 7 stops of compensation with unstabilised lenses or 7.5 with Sync IS models like the mm. The new $999 (body only) E-P5 looks to capitalize on that using the familiar PEN body shape instead and by adding a sprinkling of promising new features, including focus ‘peaking’,1/8000 sec top shutter speed (and 1/320 sec flash sync), built-in intervalometer and time lapse movie creation option, as well as Wi-Fi for remote shooting and image transfer to a smartphone or tablet. In Pro Capture mode – in which the camera starts buffering images when you half-press the shutter, so you capture the moment before the moment – it boasts a 10fps burst with 5 pre-frame shots. The Olympus M.Zuiko mm f/2.8 Pro is one of the best Olympus lenses ever made – a triumph of optical and ergonomic design, and sure to be looked back on as a legendary lens in years to come. You'll struggle to notice any aberrations in real-world shooting. There’s very little color fringing at any focal length or aperture. He is also an encyclopedia when it comes to all manner of cameras, camera holsters and bags, flashguns, tripods and heads, printers, papers and inks, and just about anything imaging-related. Only the OM System OM-1, OM-1 Mark II and OM-5 have the same level of sealing, so unless you have any of those bodies then you will receive no benefit over this lens – which you'll probably find cheaper. As with fringing, distortions are kept firmly at bay with auto corrections, so you can be assured of distortion-free images. Finally, here’s a 1080p clip shot in the TOUGH TG-6’s 120fps slow motion mode, which plays back at 30fps and one quarter speed. Here’s a movie shot in underwater macro mode, which automatically sets the white balance to the TOUGH TG-6’s shallow water settings. For this outdoor panning video clip and the others below I set the TOUGH TG-6 to its p video mode with the stabilisation enabled. There’s a few things to note about this clip, the first is that the built in mic is quite susceptible to wind noise. The TG6 also lacks a Bluetooth connection for background downloading of images while you shoot, something which both the Fujifilm Finepix XP140 and Nikon COOLPIX W150 offer. Above is a 15-frame segment from the middle of a 50-frame sequence I shot in Pro Capture mode. Irrespective of how you feel the science has evolved since the 50s and 60s small aperture diffraction was known about and taken into account by lens designers and is not just an issue of the last decade which is the point that I object to. Lord Rayleigh who defined the Rayleight criterion for image resoltion limited by diffraction (mentioned in on of the replies here) died in 1919. Applied to EM waves such as visible light it is described and explained by quantum mechanics which has been put together (by probably the greatest minds of the history of humankind) leading to the Solvay Conference in Copenhagen in 1927 (!). Whether the PEN and Trip 35 metering system 1/200 to 1/40 step is geared to avoid diffraction is conjecture abet a mentioned one but I agree no one knows for certain Not looking for an argument - as I've said I think your comment about the EV range is spot on and indeed your comments about 50's and early 60's film tech are valid (it's not my area really but my sense is the next big jump was the around the start of the 70's and given I don't date before then I'm not really in a place to comment). Whatever the reason, it's as rock-solid as ever – even when photographing birds at 600mm handheld, or shooting a handheld 15-image focus stack. Obviously, the timeless design has had some modern mirrorless embellishments. The brand's other cameras, like the OM System OM-5, have traditionally taken their design aesthetic from classic Olympus SLRs, but no camera has duplicated the lines and silhouette quite as faithfully as the OM-3. The PEN E-P5 JPEG file measured 7.18Mb and, as usual, the crops are taken from the areas marked by the red rectangles. For the PEN E-P5 and Lumix GF6 the lens was set to its 14mm (28mm equivalent) wide angle setting. If you have any pre-existing conditions, kindly consult a doctor before using this supplement. Caffeine, as an ingredient in Re1gn, also gives you more focus when working out by increasing your mental alertness. A heel-lock lacing technique helps address some concerns, though you need to work around the shortened tongue design that doesn’t extend as high as previous models. The white balance is a little on the yellow side in some of these night shots, but that’s something that can easily be fixed with the RAW files.Download the original file (Registered members of Vimeo only)Pulling-focus between static subjects is one thing, but refocusing on a subject in motion is another. The AF system has also been upgraded to 121 points covering most of the frame, and the EPL9 now also includes Bluetooth to make Wifi connections to your phone for remote control and photo transfer easier; I’m confirming about the GPS implementation. The PEN E-P5 is around 40 percent more expensive than the X-M1, though that differential is likely to erode over time.We would normally say that 4 is about optimal, but hey, if you are happy spending most of your day popping pills go for it.It is ideal if you are undertaking regular strength training or bodybuilding. Annoyingly this feature was not available on the OM-D E-M5, which bizarrely disabled the touch-screen once you started filming. For all of these modes the ISO sensitivity is selectable, but like the other exposure settings is fixed once recording has started. There are also two lower resolution modes, 1280×720 and 640 x 480, both at 30fps, that are encoded using the older, less efficient, but more editing-friendly Motion JPEG codec and saved as AVI files. The Movie and Art modes allow you to choose an artsy filter to apply to your movie or photograph — it’s like having Instagram built in to your camera. It’s sized for the NEX cameras, but it’s a near-perfect fit for the E-PL5 as well — I never even notice that it’s there. I am often taking shots with the camera held down near my waist, and it’s easy to just flip the screen up 90 degrees and look down into the view screen. At $900 — the price for the E-PL5 body and the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 lens — I would be upset if this rig did’t produce some great images. While I have always championed the smaller and lighter camera alternative, nothing beats a sturdy, comfortable and ergonomically optimized grip. I still keep the respectable Zuiko 50mm F2 Macro lens around, and brought this and the 25mm F2.8 pancake lens for my session. Being well aware of all these restrictions allowed me to work within what could be achieved with the camera. This was where it all started for Olympus, and to explore the roots of the current Micro Four Thirds system I am heavily invested in. Even MT has a great, must-read article about shot discipline, which emphasizes critical timing and technique relevant to all gear choices. Mount the lens on an Olympus body and the aperture ring is ignored, at least at the time of writing. When mounted on a Panasonic Lumix G body, this lets you dial-in the desired aperture from f1.7 to f16 (in one third increments from f2 onwards) in Aperture Priority or Manual modes. But the difference between each lens on either body was minimal – both focused quickly. So overall it’s not a sparkling performance from the TOUGH TG860 which is passable in the middle of the frame and a little disappointing at the edges. The cameras were zoomed in to provide the same field of view, the ISO sensitivity was manually set to the lowest available setting and Program Auto mode was selected for the exposure. For this test the cameras were mounted on a tripod and image stabilisation was disabled. As such you’re looking at roughly one second to autofocus with the 17mm f2.8 lens under ideal conditions, which still makes it slower than the GF1. Arguably the most important of them concerns improvements to the autofocus, at least in terms of capabilities if not actual speed. Following the accessory port, the other enhancements to the E-P2 over the E-P1 are more modest, although still useful. Like that model, the E-P2 is equipped with a decent-sized screen at 3in, but one with a disappointingly average 230k resolution. However good it is though, remember like all electronic viewfinders, the clean, smooth image under bright conditions will become noisy and less fluid in low light. Image Quality As a result though, finer detail in the AW130 crops looks clumpy, so I don’t think you can say it’s necessarily any better. By comparison the TOUGH TG4 crops are less noisy throughout the sensitivity range. By 800 ISO you can’t read the text at all and at 1600 ISO there’s an unsightly mixture of noise suppresison artifacts and noise. Shadow Adjust was turned off on the TG860 and TG4, but otherwise the cameras were left on their default settings. There’s an improvement, but not as much of one as I’d have liked. SARMs (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators – Research Chemicals, Moderate Side Effects) There’s one new position on the mode dial for creating framed composite images which I’ll talk about in more detail in the shooting modes section. The good news for sports and wildlife photographers is that you can open this lens wide up for low light shooting, fast shutter speeds and/or minimum depth of field without having to worry about image quality. So there’s no varying depth of field, but you do at least avoid deteriorating image quality due to diffraction and the Aperture priority mode is useful on those occasions where you want to stop the lens down to get a slower shutter speed for flowing water effects, for example. While there’s currently only a limited number of smartphones that can use NFC, and iPhones aren’t among them, this is a system that’s bound to gain in popularity. The E-P5 has a faster full-resolution continuous shooting speed and a larger RAW buffer, though the GF6 has a wider range of burst options including faster reduced resolution shooting. Where The PEN is a retro-stlyed model that harks back to the glory days of the 35mm half-frame PEN-F, the Lumix GF6 carries no such baggage. My Olympus Stylus XZ-2 RAW quality results on the next page will provide evidence of how much, if any, of the difference is due to processing. We are not responsible for incorrect or outdated product descriptions and/or images. Both are excellent point-and -hoot cameras with a fixed lens, auto focus, auto loading, auto winding and programmed auto exposure. It also has a lock to ensure that the lens doesn’t accidentally go from one setting to the other. It's portable but powerful, lightweight in frame but heavyweight in form, and a lens that I use when I'm making money from photography. The PEN E-PL5 has a Micro Four Thirds lens mount and can use any of the mature and growing catalogue of lenses avalable in that format, including those by Olympus in addition to Panasonic and other third parties. And while there is an OM System logo nestled discreetly in the corner of the body, it’s the Olympus name that boldly enjoys pride of place on the head. While you can scroll through images in playback mode, you can’t use pinch gestures to zoom in and out (though you can pan around by dragging with your finger), instead a zoom slider control appears on the right. As on the E-PL5, the touch-screen provides touch shooting and touch focussing functions and, the PEN E-P5 becomes the second PEN which allows you to use the touch screen to change the focus while shooting a movie. In semi auto modes the main dial controls the exposure component with the front Sub dial handling exposure compensation. Support supplements are not needed, but we recommend that you do just for the detoxifying effect that they have. Do I need to take “On Cycle Therapy Supplements? What’s the best way to take Dymethazine? It's a complex molecular structure that is unlike everything else on the market. I understand that the camera must feel right and the satisfaction means more pleasure when shooting which means more feeling in the results. I’ve shot the same and similar scenes and subjects with many cameras and each has its own character, not only colour but a certain rendering and look. Thanks for the comment I think I disagree with you on this“ How terribly bad would these images look had they been not captured using Olympus' color science? Customers Who Viewed This Product Also Viewed No, the OM System Tough TG-7 is properly waterproof. That's the OM System Tough TG-7 sitting in a glass of water. For anyone who needs a near-indestructible new camera, this is the one to go for. It makes sense to set a limit too as even though the rate slows down after 48 frames when shooting at the top 60fps, you’ll still burn through your memory – especially if you’re recording in RAW. In any mode you can set the number of pre-shutter frames from 0 to 14, and if desired set a total frame limit up to 99 frames or unlimited. If you slow the camera down though, you’ll enjoy long bursts, especially if using a UHS-II card in Slot-1, and if you go for 10fps to enjoy continuous AF, you should be able to keep shooting while memory remains. With the camera set to Sequential Low with the silent drive mode, I could access the electronic shutter rated at 18fps with continuous AF. With the quality set to Large Fine JPEG and the UHS-II card in Slot-1, the EM1 Mark II seemed happy to keep shooting while memory remained. These let you take a peek at a long exposure before it’s finished to monitor how it’s getting on. Sure the options and settings are mostly taken from earlier models, but they did it so well, I’m delighted to find them here again. Olympus really needs to update this part of its operating system rather than just inheriting the limited functionality of earlier models. Like the more recent bodies you can choose to encode the timelapse movie in 720p HD, 1080p Full HD or 4k, but unfortunately the frame rates become lower at the higher resolutions. Moving on, the EM1 Mark II inherits the interval timer of the EM1, offering up to 999 frames at intervals from one second to a second shy of 25 (yes, 25) hours, and with an initial delay again up to a second short of 25 hours. You can see an example of the E-PL5’s touch-focus in action in the movie section below. In a move away from the AVCHD encoding of earlier PENs, movies are encoded using H.264 and saved as QuickTime files with a MOV extension in the same folder as still images. The Pen E-PL5 builds on the movie capabilities of its predecessor with modes matching those available on the OM-D E-M5 including a best quality 1080p30 video mode. These provide uncomplicated slider-based controls for jargon-free image adjustment including colour saturation, brightness, blur background and Express motion (slow shutter speed). Olympus pioneered results-based controls and so it’s no surprise to see Live Guide controls appear when you press the centre button on the control wheel. This is a trinity lens right up there with the best from any other format, from any other manufacturer. Thanks to firmware corrections, lateral chromatic aberration and distortion are complete non-issues, and the lens is impressively resistant to ghosting and flare. A ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating is applied to multiple elements to minimize ghosting and flare. Optical highlights include two aspherical elements, one dual surface aspherical element, one ED aspherical element, two further ED elements, and two High Refractive index elements. In its favour, the EP5’s built-in stabilisation is probably more effective (although this has yet to be compared with the GX7), the stabilisation works for movies as well as stills, it shoots faster at 9fps vs 5fps, there’s wireless and more sophisticated flash control and it supports an optional microphone adapter. Having used and reviewed both models I think the E-P5 is worth the extra. You don’t have to look to hard to find the OM-D E-M5 body priced significantly lower than the E-P5, and if you buy the E-P5 with the VF-4 viewfnder accessory, you’re looking at an even wider gap. Having said that, the limited number of weather-sealed MFT lenses currently available make that less of an advantage than it otherwise might be.
