Camptra is looking for a hands-on Full Stack Developer with a strong backend engineering focus to build and support our AI-powered SaaS products. The role will primarily involve Python/Django development, REST APIs, databases, background processing, integrations, performance troubleshooting, and production support, while also contributing to React/TypeScript frontend work as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
- Build reliable data-processing workflows using PostgreSQL, Redis, Celery, asynchronous/background jobs, file processing, and integrations with external/internal APIs.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across APIs, databases, background jobs, Docker containers, Linux environments, authentication, and AWS infrastructure.
- Optimize backend performance, database queries, API response times, scalability, error handling, logging, and overall application reliability.
- Integrate backend services with React/TypeScript user interfaces and support frontend enhancements when required.
- Work with AWS services such as Cognito, S3, EC2, ECR, ECS, Lambda, and CloudWatch, and support CI/CD and production releases.
- Own assigned features end-to-end: requirement understanding, technical design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and post-production support.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Django, Django REST Framework, REST API design, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Good understanding of backend architecture, authentication/authorization, role-based access, API integrations, error handling, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with Redis, Celery or similar background-processing frameworks, scheduled jobs, and data/file-intensive workflows.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Git, CI/CD fundamentals, Linux/server troubleshooting, and production debugging.
- Working experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; ability to integrate frontend workflows with backend APIs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to understand existing codebases, diagnose defects, and implement maintainable solutions with minimal supervision.
Good to Have
- Experience with AWS Cognito, S3, EC2, ECR, ECS, Lambda, Amplify, or CloudWatch.
- Experience with high-volume APIs, large-file processing, reporting/export libraries, application monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Vite, React Bootstrap, AG Grid, automated testing, and GitHub Actions.
- Exposure to AI/Generative AI integrations within SaaS applications.
Shift & Work Expectations
This is a shift-based role. The selected candidate will initially be assigned to the US Night Shift and must be comfortable working during US business hours. Shift assignments may rotate based on business needs. A Night Shift Allowance will be provided in accordance with Camptra company policy. The role may also require support for planned releases or critical production issues.
